Online hypnotherapy

A practical and convenient way to benefit from hypnotherapy

Just as effective as an in-person session in the clinic

Online hypnotherapy is just as effective as an in-person session in the clinic. In some ways it is better, because you don’t have to drive after the session, you can relax in the afterglow of your hypnosis in your own space.
The process and methods your hypnotherapist will use are the same as in-person, just adapted to the online technology.

Checklist for preparing for an online hypnosis session

Check your email booking confirmation for the Google Meet link

Once your appointment date and time is confirmed, you will receive a booking confirmation via email. This email will contain your link to the Google Meet session. All you need to do is click this link at the appointment time and I will be waiting for you.

Please note that all session times are given in CEST, Madrid, Spain time. Ask Google to convert the time for you if you're in a different time zone.

Safety check, if you will be alone in your home:

Firstly, make a home safety and security check. The things that you would normally check before you go to bed, such as:

  • Gas and electrical appliances are turned off (hobs, ovens, fires, candles, incense).
  • Doors locked.
  • Make sure you have given me an emergency name and contact number. It is very unlikely that it will ever be needed, but unexpected things can sometimes happen to people.

Seating and camera position:

Online hypnotherapy seated position

  • Make sure you are safely seated in your chair, preferably a sofa, an armchair or a chair with armrests, somewhere you won't fall if you happen to nod off to sleep.
  • If using a phone or tablet, make sure it is in a stable position where it won't fall over.
  • You need to be in a seated position with your feet flat on the floor, legs not crossed.
  • I need to be able to see your face and your hands. Usually I find seated with two cushions on top of your lap works well. Just have the cushions to hand and we'll adjust it all once we're online.

Get yourself comfy

  • Prepare for your session 15 minutes beforehand. Go to the loo, etc., make sure the room temperature is comfortable and your clothing is loose and comfortable.
  • Relax a little and take some nice deep breaths to prepare for a wonderful experience and new learning.
  • Have a glass of water and a box of tissues to hand.

If there are other people in the house...

  • Ensure they know not to disturb you for the duration of the session.
  • Ask them to be quiet.

Minimise distractions

  • Ensure that any pets in the home are supervised if necessary and will be kept quiet for the duration of the session.
  • Put your phone on silent, shut down any messaging apps on the computer and minimise any other distractions there may be.

What to do if the internet disconnects during a session

  • It very rarely happens these days and if it does, it's no problem.
  • You'll soon realise that something is not right, that I've stopped speaking, then you can just reconnect with the Google Meet link, I'll guide you back into your happy place and we'll keep on going.

After your session

  • Take it easy for the rest of the day. Take some time out for yourself.
  • Don't think too much about the session. You can be sure your subconscious mind is processing it all in its own way that is most beneficial for you. Just allow the hypnotherapy to take its course.
  • Take care of your physical health as best you can, drink water and if possible, spend some time in nature.
