Hypnotherapy for weight loss

Achieve a healthy body for life with the ShapeShift Hypnosis programme

Hypnosis for weight loss

Forget about 'diets', hypnotherapy for weight loss goes much further, releasing past afflictions, addressing triggers, cravings, habits and much more...  helping you to lead a life of freedom, happiness and wellbeing.

After the four-week programme, the therapy work is done. You will be a new person! You will have dramatically changed the way you think and behave, having cleared away unhelpful habits, limiting beliefs and negative emotions, which are often underlying food addiction. You will also have healthy new habits that are effortless to follow.

Hypnotherapy for weight loss

An initial four-week programme with monthly accountability and motivation until you achieve your goal.

With one personalised hypnotherapy session once per week for four weeks, we will explore what your goals are, what is holding you back, what triggers you, how to change emotional eating, limiting beliefs, habits, cravings and much more.

Week 1 - Your storyboard and roadmap - Where you are now and where you would like to be

New_life_chapter_1

On your first session, we get to know each other. Your storyboard will be personalised from a detailed intake questionnaire about your life, your family, lifestyle and any medical issues. There will be 'aha!' moments throughout the intake, which is a powerful part of the process to start you thinking and behaving differently on your new life path to a healthier way of being.

Next, we will craft your roadmap: what it is that you would like to achieve and when you would like to achieve this by. We can head towards a future date with a celebration, birthday, anniversary, holiday etc. so that you can keep your focus. Although there will also be milestones along the way so that you can keep your motivation going.

Even if you have a long way to go, your hypnotherapist is by your side if you need it to offer accountability and a pep talk to keep you going.

In this first session, we will consider the practical aspects of nutrition. There is no diet to follow, diets simply don't work in the long term. You already know what is good for your body, just keep it simple so that it is effortless to work into your lifestyle. Follow the 80/20 guide and this will be easy for you. That is, 80% whole, natural and nutritious foods, 20% whatever you fancy.

Your homework for this first week is to simply write a list of foods that are good for you, and those that are not.

We will touch briefly on physical activity, just to get you thinking about how you can move your body in new ways, always within your capability.

Once your storyboard and roadmap are complete, the rest of the session is when you go into hypnosis.

You will learn a simple tool to stop your cravings. Imagine never wanting crisps/biscuits/chocolate/sugar or sweets again! Just like that! You won't believe how easy and effective it is.

You will learn about what hypnosis is, and what it is not, as there are many myths and misconceptions about it. You are always aware and in control and it is always your choice to go into hypnosis.

Your hypnotherapist will guide you into a relaxed state, simply quieting your busy mind a little so that you are free to daydream and listen to the powerful suggestions. The suggestions are only those that are agreed between you and your hypnotherapist and you will only take on board those that are in alignment with your desires and values.

While you are in hypnosis, you will be guided to imagine your roadmap, the milestone celebrations and the potential pitfalls. You will be given powerful hypnotic suggestions to your subconscious mind about the good decision you have made and to continue with healthy habits, for life. Your hypnotherapist will guide you back from hypnosis and you will feel refreshed and wonderful. You'll be as ready as you can be, determined and optimistic! Looking forward to the weeks ahead putting your new learnings into practice.

Week 2 - Emotional eating, limiting beliefs and taming your appetite

Emotional eating and habits

This week, we will be looking at what hunger actually is and some important points about the anatomy of your body.

Have you been on auto pilot wth no stop button while you're eating? Your mind and body naturally know when you're really hungry and when you're full. You may have overridden these natural signals for years. In this session, you will reconnect with your body's natural way of telling you what the right amount is. With hypnosis, old habits are easily changed to empowering ones that will make weight loss effortless for you.

We will also address the emotional reasons and beliefs behind unhealthy eating. These vary greatly depending on each individual person and may or may not include:

  • Grief
  • Trauma
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Loneliness
  • Boredom
  • Low self esteem
  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Anger
  • Frustration
  • Burnout
  • Fear
  • Hormonal imbalance (e.g. cortisol spikes due to chronic stress)
  • Lack of sleep (often tied to emotional distress)
  • Relationship issues
  • Work pressure
  • Financial worries
  • Unresolved emotional pain

For some people, the weight stays on because it has been emotionally safer for them to do so. For others, it could be grief, stress or lack of sleep, major factors in weight gain, anxiety or depression, etc., any one or more of the above. This session is about gently resolving emotions that have become out of balance and empowering you to feel a whole lot better about yourself. It can be life changing in the best way!

Beliefs are also a big factor in your subconscious mind that hold you back from being your naturally healthy self:

  • You must eat everything on your plate because there are hungry children in third-world countries.
  • Limiting beliefs placed upon you by yourself or others.
  • Taunting and teasing at school or in the workplace, etc.
  • I’ll never be able to lose weight.
  • I don’t have the willpower to stick to a healthy diet.
  • I’m just meant to be overweight.
  • Healthy food doesn’t taste good.
  • I don’t have time to exercise or cook healthy meals.
  • I’ve tried everything and nothing works.
  • I’ll always be the ‘big’ person in the room.
  • I can’t enjoy life if I’m dieting.
  • I’ll start tomorrow… or next week… or next year.
  • I’m too old to change my habits.
  • I don’t deserve to be healthy or fit.
  • I’ll never look as good as [someone else].
  • Exercise is too hard or boring.
  • I’ll just gain the weight back anyway.
  • I’m too busy to focus on my health.
  • I’m not strong enough to resist cravings.
  • I’ve always been this way, so I can’t change.
  • Losing weight is expensive and requires fancy tools.
  • I’ll never reach my goal, so why bother trying?
  • I’m happy enough as I am, even if I’m unhealthy.

These beliefs can create a self-fulfilling prophecy, making it harder to adopt healthy habits. Challenging and reframing these subconscious thoughts is required to make positive change.
